Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag albums

Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag combines traditional Norwegian music with contemporary expressions. We started in1993 and worked continuously to 2002. After a longer break, we reunited in 2009. So far, we have made three studio albums, some released in the US and Germany. We have also contributed to a number av compilations. Here is a list of Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag albums where I contribute.

CNSsm Curing Norwegian Stiffness, Heilo/Grappa (2002) This is our latest album so far. It contains many beautiful polses and new compositions.
stolengoodssm Stolen Goods, Northside (1999) This is the North-American edition of “Tjuvgods,” with extra tracks. We had a great time playing at the Northside festival at Cedar cultural centre in Minneapolis.
tjuvgodssm Tjuvgods, Heilo/Grappa (1997) Our second album, critically acclaimed with many beautiful tunes. Here is “CP Slåtten,” a song Eivind Sognnæs composed for my wedding. A really beautiful song! Listen also to the groovy opening number, “Halling fra Numedal.”
gguro Gamle Guro, Feuer & Eis (1996) This is a german edition of Spell, with some additional tracks. For this, we were awarded the Deutsche Schallplattenpreis. We also made numerous tours throughout Germany.

Spell, Heilo (1995) This is our debut album. Swedish guitarist Roger Tallroth of Väsen helped us considerably with arrangements and continues to be a great inspirator for us.


Among Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag albums belongs also numerous compilations, including   In The Sweet Sunny North, vol 1 & 2 with Henry Kaiser and David Lindley. These are our first appearances on record.
